The Credit Board · A Manifesto
Vision

A world where every credit risk decision is made with rigor, executed with discipline, and grounded in the right context.

Mission

We are codifying decades of credit review craft into AI-native tools, shared standards, and a community of practitioners — so that the judgment built over careers is preserved, scaled, and put to work in defense of every loan portfolio.

What We Believe

The Principles

I.
Credit risk management is a craft. It deserves the tools of a craft.
II.
AI amplifies judgment. It does not replace it. We build for practitioners who already know what good looks like.
III.
Consistency is the quiet virtue. The best judgment in the room should not be a matter of luck. AI lets the standard of the best become the standard of all.
IV.
The audit trail is the product. If a conclusion cannot be defended to an examiner, it is not finished.
V.
Inaction is a risk decision. Choosing not to modernize is itself a choice — one that compounds, vintage by vintage, cycle by cycle.
VI.
We build with practitioners, not for them. Every feature is shaped by someone who has approved a credit, written a narrative, or owned a loss — and stood behind it the next morning.
VII.
Regulators are partners. We design for the hardest examiner in the room. Every other audience is easier.
VIII.
The work is the legacy. Credit risk has been passed quietly between mentors for generations. We are writing it down — not to lock it up, but to hand it forward.
IX.
We exist for the work and the people doing it. Everything else is in service of that.
The Tool

Principles need instruments.

We built CRAA — a credit review AI assistant — to put these beliefs into practice. It analyzes commercial loans, validates risk ratings against OCC guidance, and drafts examiner-style narratives. Built for practitioners, by practitioners.

The Community

The conversation is already happening.

Senior credit practitioners — reviewers, examiners, portfolio managers — are sharing what they know. If this manifesto resonates, we'd like to meet you. Applications are reviewed personally.
